In order to understand what is happening in American politics, one has to understand Economic Darwinism.
Corporations exist for one purpose only and that is to maximize profit. And the factor affecting profit most is cost.
The four areas affecting cost the most are taxes, government regulation, wages, and benefits.
Now look at the platform of the Republican Party, a wholly owned subsidiary of American Corporations. They want to accomplish the following:
1. Cut corporate taxes or eliminate them entirely; eliminate the capital gains tax and the estate tax; and lower taxes on those making the most income.
2. Eliminate all government regulation.
3. Transfer all benefit cost to the employee, including Healthcare, Social Security and Medicare, privatize everything.
4. Eliminate the minimum wage. Outlaw Unions, the biggest factor affecting wages. Keep unemployment high and increase competition for low wage jobs by keeping the workforce under educated and by eliminating unemployment insurance. It also helps to eliminate all social safety net programs.
The result is a Plutocracy ruled by Oligarchs managing a workforce of credit slaves. Like the old Company Store concept, by keeping wages low, they can force people to rely upon credit to survive.
Finally, they keep a lid on dissent with a theocratic moral authority, effectively creating an American Taliban.
Everyone who votes Republican is helping create this dystopian future for their children and grandchildren.
The battle for America’s future begins today.

More wingnut disconnected thought
Why is it that people who have a problem with "Government" and their "freedom" seem to want to do things the rest of us don't, like own machine guns or marry 14 year old girls. Now it seems Rush Limbaugh wants to memorialize David Koresh. Here's a guy who wanted his on private army and to have sex with children under the guise of his religion. When the "Government" finally decided to enforce the law he chose to incinerate himself and all his followers Ala Jim Jones. Next, some other "freedom" nut job decides to protest the "government" by killing 168 innocent people in Oklahoma City. Limbaugh thinks the Oklahoma terrorist bombing was the "Governments" fault for enforcing the law in Waco. Here's an idea, if you don't like this "Government" use your "freedom" to leave and live somewhere else. Leave the rest of us to enjoy our laws, our government, our civil society and our America.

Dear Wyoming Senators
Dear Senator Enzi and Senator Barrasso,
I hope you will join with other lawmakers calling for the filing of criminal charges against Goldman Sachs and any other companies and executives who are suspected of fraud or other criminal activities in connection with the recent collapse of the financial markets. Civil penalties and fines are not enough for those who knowingly and carelessly brought about the collapse of our economy. I hope also that you will support the Financial Reform Legislation that has passed the House. It is inconceivable that a nation such as ours would allow a handful of greedy speculators to put our national security at risk. We invaded two countries in response to an attack on our country which though it took a grisly human toll did not do as much economic damage as these greedy speculators have done to their own country. This same danger to our National Security exists with the speculators in the oil futures markets as well.
We cannot continue to allow a small group of greedy speculators endanger this nation, our economy and our future.
I pray you will act accordingly in the best interest of our Nation.
Sincerely,

Less regulation for whom?
The Republicans are back at their less government themes again this week. What they fail to mention is what they propose is less government for business and more for the rest of us. During the President’s Healthcare Summit it became clear the “GOVERNMENT takeover of Healthcare”, that has become a mantra, means the Democrats plan to put some government mandated consumer protections on the insurance industry. This has led to the cry of “the GOVERNMENT making decisions for the consumer”. That would be fine except that the Republican plan is Tort Reform which is the government setting limits on what patients can be compensated for injuries received through the negligence of hospitals and doctors. So, the difference could not be clearer, Democrats want to make sure you get what you deserve, which is a fair shake, and Republicans want to make sure you don’t get what you deserve. And, look at the common denominators, if the republicans had their way on Healthcare reform the insurance companies would benefit, if they had their way on Tort reform the insurance companies would benefit. Connect the dots anyone? Heads they win, tails we lose. It’s all about the MONEY, wake up America!
