Less regulation for whom?

The Republicans are back at their less government themes again this week. What they fail to mention is what they propose is less government for business and more for the rest of us. During the President’s Healthcare Summit it became clear the “GOVERNMENT takeover of Healthcare”, that has become a mantra, means the Democrats plan to put some government mandated consumer protections on the insurance industry. This has led to the cry of “the GOVERNMENT making decisions for the consumer”. That would be fine except that the Republican plan is Tort Reform which is the government setting limits on what patients can be compensated for injuries received through the negligence of hospitals and doctors. So, the difference could not be clearer, Democrats want to make sure you get what you deserve, which is a fair shake, and Republicans want to make sure you don’t get what you deserve. And, look at the common denominators, if the republicans had their way on Healthcare reform the insurance companies would benefit, if they had their way on Tort reform the insurance companies would benefit. Connect the dots anyone? Heads they win, tails we lose. It’s all about the MONEY, wake up America!
